Gautam Adani just made a massive move. On February 17, 2026, his group announced a direct $100 billion investment. They want to build hyperscale data centres for AI. These won’t be normal hubs. They will run entirely on green energy. The goal is to finish this by 2035. Adani says this will help India lead the “Intelligence Revolution.” He wants India to build and export intelligence, not just use it.

The numbers are huge. This direct spend could spark another $150 billion in other areas. Think server making, cloud platforms, and power grids. In total, we are looking at a $250 billion AI ecosystem. Adani Enterprises saw its stock jump over 2% after the news. This plan builds on the 2 GW capacity they already have through AdaniConnex. Now, they are chasing a 5 GW target. This would be the world’s largest integrated data centre platform.

Partnerships are already in place. They are working with Google on a giant campus in Visakhapatnam. More hubs are coming to Noida. With Microsoft, they are targeting Hyderabad and Pune. They are even deepening ties with Flipkart. They want to build a second AI centre just for digital commerce. This is about more than just fast computers. It is about “technological sovereignty” for India.

The energy side is just as big. The plan uses the 30 GW Khavda project in Gujarat. Over 10 GW of that is already working. The group is also putting $55 billion into more renewables and battery storage. Adani believes that nations that master the mix of energy and computation will win the next decade. He is betting the whole house on it. By reserving capacity for Indian startups and researchers, the group hopes to solve the local “compute scarcity.” It is a bold, green, and very expensive vision for India’s digital future.
